I have to buy a DVD for a movie passionate. She just told me to buy what i thought the best movie ever was.
I personnally think it must be a Kubrick movie... Like 2001 or Barry Lyndon.
A friend told me Citizen Kane...
What do you think?
The Shawshank Redemption would be enother great choice. If Kubrick is your man, don't forget about The Shining, or Full Metal Jacket. Actually, get the whole Kubrick boxed set! Can't go wrong there.
If you want funny plus great music try "The Commitments", the story of a soul band being formed in Dublin as the Irish were considered the blacks of the UK.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The secret of the Ooze.
Once you have seen it you will immediately gain a sense of well being and elation as a feeling of immense superiority (to whoever produced, directed or funded the film) washes over you.
Best movie ever ? Such a tough question! I mean it's really all about taste and the mood you are in at the time, isn't it? There's nothing measurable to enable you to say 'That's the best movie ever'. It's not just the money it makes.
Anyway, my vote has to include 'Blade-runner' and the 'Lady-killers'. Both fantastic movies. Both totally different and memorable in their own ways. Classics, yes, but 'the best ever'? Maybe. Well, for now anyway ...... Ask me again tomorrow :-)
