Crowdstorm is a product recommendation website which combines price comparison with Q&A to create a uniquely helpful social shopping experience. We pull together a whole load of data to allow shoppers to quickly find the cheapest price for any given product. We don't list every product and every retailer on the whole web, but we list as many as we can get our hands on - certainly enough to save most people a whole load of time and money.
Everyone researches before they buy. The simplest research is, of course, asking a trusted friend. But most of the time there's no simple answer, and the web provides a massive amount of information, advice and data about anything you could wish to buy.
The trouble is that the web is fragmented: users have to consult multiple sources to extract any relevant information (search engines, retailer web sites, brand sites, customer reviews, expert reviews, shopping comparison sites, and blogs). This can often lead to a time consuming and frustrating experience, especially when different sources give differing opinions, leaving the user to judge which of the sources to trust and are most relevant for them.
There is also no simple way to directly interact with these experts and trusted individuals in order to get advice and recommendations for a buyer's unique personal situation.
The vision for Crowdstorm is provide a single point of contact in helping users research products and find the right one for them before sending them off to the best place to buy it and at the right price. We want to aggregate content from experts across the web (prices, buyers guides, reviews, blog posts) and blend it with content and question & answer style advice from people you trust (friends, family, colleagues, peers...).
