the tv has great picture quality. we also have sony's 52xbr4 series. people are always wondering the difference between the sony and the samsung. for picture quality i have to say it's the same.

however, the edge for interface goes to sony. if you scan for channels, and it doesn't pick it up for the first time around, you can't go to it. for instance, we knew there was a digital channel at 11-1, but the samsung wouldn't let us go there because it wasn't on its list of channels. i have to rescan ALL channels again to pick it up. on the sony, if it misses a channel, you can still go there. i found this to be annoying on the samsung.

btw, we have basic cable and wanted to pick up digital and HDTV cable signals.
